A very deep, dense and flavorful roast. All the rich, distinctive and aromatic characteristics found in the Ruta Maya dark roast, but with an extra bite. Produces an exceptionally beautiful crema, the tan chocolately foam which floats on the surface of properly brewed espresso.

Double certified organic by USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture.

100% Arabica beans shade grown and hand picked by a cooperative of Maya Indian farmers in the Highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Exceptional richness derived from ancient growing techniques combined with gentle roasting to extract ultimate in coffee depth and flavor. Green coffee beans imported to Austin, Texas where custom roasted and packed daily.

A percentage of profits used to support cultural and educational programs for the Maya in Chiapas.

Packaged in plastic insert sewn inside traditional Mexican burlap sack printed with reproduction of ancient Maya artwork depicting King Shield Jaguar.
