Rich, distinctive and aromatic roast. Smooth flavor with hardly a trace of the bitterness often found in dark roasts.

Double certified organic by USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture.

100% Arabica beans shade grown and hand picked by a cooperative of Maya Indian farmers in the Highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Exceptional richness derived from ancient growing techniques combined with gentle roasting to extract ultimate in coffee depth and flavor.

Green coffee beans imported to Austin, Texas where custom roasted and packed daily. A percentage of profits used to support cultural and educational programs for the Maya in Chiapas.

Packaged in foil-lined resealable grocery shelf friendly paper bag with artwork designed by Austin Armadillo World Headquarters artist Micael Priest depicting the Mayan Temple of the Sun in Palenque, Mexico.

I read someone else's comment here and it is almost my exact story! We went to Florida and stayed with my sister. She said we had to try this coffee she had been getting. Oh my goodness!! It is THE best - and I am a true coffee snob. Going back to Costco to get more, they were out!! No way! So we actually visited another Costco to find some and there was a booth/demo going on - I was so excited! We told the demonstrator about our dilemma. He - the rep - said if we give our Costco number that Ruta Maya will honor the Costco price when buying online. That is SO awesome!! Really people - this is the best coffee.....

I bought my first bag at Costco and was so impressed I told everyone I knew to go buy some. My very next trip to Costco, I was told they no longer stock it. I was so disappointed I actually took the time to complain and write up a request to re-stock Ruta Maya. In fact, I'm so impressed, that I'm willing to buy it online, something I rarely do. As a coffee lover, this is undoubtedly the best smelling and tasting coffee I've ever experienced...
